Founded in 2003, the Orchestra Fiati di Valle Camonica is one of the leading wind orchestras in the Italian musical scene, formed by approximately 60 players. The Orchestra prides itself with important results at national and international festivals, winner of the 1st category (2007), superior (2011) and excellence category (2016) at “Flicorno d’Oro” international contest in Riva del Garda (Italy), and the Excellence Category (2012) at “Vallée d’Aoste” international contest (Italy). The orchestra hosted many important conductors and soloists from all over the world.
Since its foundation, the orchestra is conducted by Denis Salvini. Horn player and soloist, he has studied conducting with Ronald Johnson, Lorenzo della Fonte and Douglas Bostock. He has enrolled in conducting master classes and seminars led by most important teachers in the wind music scene. Since 2006 he holds the conducting instructor position at the Brescia Band Center and works as guest conductor, teacher and clinician in Italy, Europe and the United States.
Guest soloist Devid Ceste graduated in trombone with the highest possible score in 1996 in Torino conservatory. Since 2000 Devid Ceste is second trombone in the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI (Italian national TV broadcast orchestra) and guest player for various ensembles. He worked with many great conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Eliau Inbal, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Georges Prêtre, Mstislav Rostropovich, Rafael Fruebech de Burgos and more.
British-born guest conductor Douglas Bostock is Music Director of the Argovia Philharmonic in Switzerland. From 2000 to 2006 he was Principal Conductor of Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra and thereafter Principal Guest Conductor until 2010. He has served in various positions as conductor of several European orchestras, and has guest conducted major orchestras in Europe, America and Asia. Douglas Bostock has more than 100 CDs to his name, and he is also renowned as a conducting teacher internationally.
